We recently took to the skies for an installation in London’s Iconic Leadenhall Building for pension fund specialists OMERS. The incredible offices span the 28th and 29th floors and are a true AV spectacular, with intuitive systems in place to aid global communication and collaborative working through internal meeting spaces on 28th floor and client liaison suites on 29th floor.

We worked closely with system designers at MiX Consultancy to provide a full integration service. The piece-de-resistance is the boardroom on the 29th floor which acts as a conference space for up to 24 people. The dual 98” NEC screens, presented in a landscape format are almost as spectacular as the London skyline view-accompanied by a bespoke full width soundbar created by Innovox Audio to account for the length.

A Cisco TelePresence SpeakerTrack camera system performs exceptionally to hone in on whoever is speaking for optimum sound and visual reproduction for the conference party. Four presentation rooms are each identical in their set up, with collaborative group working being the focus facilitated through Skype for Business, NEC screens mounted on Peerless wall mounts with Monitor Audio Soundbars. A Crestron Digital Media solution streams digital and analogue AV signals from one platform with 4K content reproduction, future proofing the installation.

Video conferencing suites each feature a fully integrated system with Biamp Tesira audio solutions for crisp clear audio at all times, with Clock Audio table mics and Crestron Soros ceiling mounted speakers. The furniture also plays a key part in this set up and is strategically planned so that microphones fall in the right places so that all voices can be heard.

A flexible meeting space can be used as two large presentation rooms, with boardroom style furniture, 84” NEC displays and Crestron Saros ceiling speakers featuring in each area. When used as a complete ‘open’ space for theatre style presentations, audio is reinforced by two Crestron Aspire IW8 ‘front of house’ speakers and a Christie LWU701i-D projector drops from the ceiling on a Future Automation motorised hoist mechanism. Clever audio-visual product selection, such as the Revolabs
wireless microphones ensures that no compromise was made between the multitudes of formations.

In the reception, a 3x3 video wall back drop with content managed by the in-house signage and content company, features a mix of welcome content, inspiring imagery and key company messaging to set the scene and immerse people into the OMERS ethos.

With such a vast AV set up, we utilised Crestron Fusion Room View (Fusion RV) to manage the system from one centralised location. This is accessed online with a bespoke URL and allows us to analyse system use data to inform future investments. Problems can also be diagnosed and if feasible fixed remotely.

“The OMERS office is now globally connected with the AV solution in place helping to further the huge international presence in both public and private markets. The systems were cleverly designed by the team from Mix and superbly installed by the team from Focus 21 to fit seamlessly into the daily working practice of the team, ensuring a high uptake in adoption with the technology rendering almost invisible as it is so easy to use. Through the Creston RV system, all elements can be scheduled to automatically shut down at the end of the working day and remote desk assistance is provided, maximising efficiency for more time to admire the stunning views of London!”
